I provide individual and group counseling for adults.

My approach centers on the relationship between you and the world around you. I believe that understanding and processing our past experiences, the ways in which we interact with our environment, and the stories we use to develop our concept of self are all influential in our day to day functioning. To do this, we will employ a range of techniques from traditional talk therapy to body-based, creative, and movement techniques.

During our time together, we’ll explore the patterns, expectations, influences, and sense of self that have combined to bring you to this moment. Our sessions will be by turns practical, cerebral, and playful. We’ll discover deep meaning and symbolism in life, but we’ll also be light-hearted, sarcastic, and silly.

Fertility / Pregnancy / Postpartum

Growing a family takes perseverance. The path to starting a family may involve fertility struggles, pregnancy loss, health issues, or challenges with adoption. It can also be difficult to adapt to the new identity and rhythms of parenthood. Finding ways to cope and thrive is the focus of this specialty.

The focus of this specialty is our identity and role as parents. It explores how to stay calm in the face of tantrums, how to manage our expectations and anxieties as parents, how to co-parent effectively, and how to provide consistency and boundaries with love and empathy.

Grief and loss come in many forms. The loss may be unacknowledged by or invisible to society, but it can still alter our relationships and our way of life. The focus of this specialty is on embracing the breadth of feelings caused by loss and integrating elements of the person or thing lost into our lives.

Life Transitions

Major transitions can cause us to question everything. Who am I? What do I want out of life? Maybe it’s exiting college, or retiring, or perhaps it’s finding yourself after a breakup, or sharing your sexuality or gender. Whatever the situation, the focus is on how to find acceptance and meaning amidst the change.

Identity encompasses who we are, how we came to be that way, and how to become who we want to be. It’s how others see us, and how we see ourselves. It’s finding purpose and fulfillment in our time on this earth. The focus of this specialty is how to live authentically.

Interpersonal / Environmental Stressors

Sometimes our stress is caused by external factors – relationships, family conflicts, financial stress, political anxiety, systemic injustices, and much more. We can’t control the world around us, but we can determine our boundaries and advocate for our needs, which is the focus of this specialty.
